Tourist Activities and Services
There is a tourist info point where you can find information on the natural, cultural and historical resources of Val Campola, equipped with an exhibition area of traditional local craft products, panoramic photographs, maps of the paths available for excursions. Information on the Matildic area, on the Castles of Canossa and Rossena which are a few kilometers away, on the small villages of the Val Campola area of medieval and pre-medieval origin (the village of Riolo for example dates back to 1050) which still today maintain vestiges of historical interest, cultural and religious of great interest and the greatest concentration of tower houses per unit of surface area that can be defined as a "turreted land" which has few parallels in the entire Emilian territory. We are close to the "Pinetina" ecopark of Vezzano and its environmental education center and we are located along the route of the Via Matildica del Volto Santo, highly attractive for pilgrims, which connects us to Canossa. Also thanks to the proximity to the capital municipality and its connections with the national motorway network and the high-speed railway station, the project proposed by the community cooperative develops a series of integrated interventions that place sport, culture, environment and education at the center and whose implementation would make it possible to expand the eco-sustainable tourism experiences already present, helping to spread sustainable lifestyles capable of attracting targets such as hikers who love biking, trekking, outdoor life, but also families, young people, pilgrims, schools and lovers of culture and food and wine. The Info point offers information on local traditions, culture and events with brochures, guides and event calendars to promote festivals, festivals, traditional celebrations and other cultural events. The staff prepares and provides assistance in planning tourist itineraries, booking accommodation, restaurants, guided hiking tours, creating cycle tourism routes with bike rental service, suggesting panoramic routes to best enjoy the hilly landscape and enhance the natural and cultural heritage. The service is carried out in close collaboration with the local community, with the cooperative's volunteers, involving tourist guides, artisans, local producers and other local actors and includes the participation of local experts for the creation of workshops, demonstrations, narratives or cultural experiences for visitors. It is a place for promoting local identity, slow tourism, dedicated to relaxation and well-being, supporting agriculture and local craftsmanship and promoting connections between visitors and the rural community with tours and visits at the typical companies of the valley.
